New York City Honors Nepali Community Leader

Tara Niraula honored at the South Asian Heritage Event, held by the NYC Comptroller

Dr. Tara N. Niraula, President of America-Nepal Friendship Society (ANFS) and a prominent Nepali community leader was one of the five distinguished South Asian honorees who was honored by the William C. Thompson, the Comptroller of the City of New York at special event organized on June 28, 2006.

The Comptroller as an elected official represents over 8 million residents of New York. Dr. Niraula received this award in recognition of his leadership and contributions to strengthening immigrant communities in New York and beyond. See the attachment for details.

South Asian Heritage Event Honorees

Dr. Tara Niraula, the President of America Nepal Friendship Society will be among the five distinguished honorees at the South Asian Heritage event being hosted by the Comptroller of the City of New York.

The Event will take place on June 28, 2006 from 5:30 to 7:30 at Surrogate’s Court House located at 31 Chambers Street, in downtown Manhattan.

South Asian Heritage Program

The NYC Comptroller, William C. Thompson, Jr., is honoring seven individuals during the upcoming celebration of South Asian Heritage on Wednesday, June 28, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at the Surrogate’s Court House.
