Nepali Film (Basain) Screening

The America-Nepal Friendship Society is organizing a screening of the Nepali film Basain (Migration), which was based on the novel The Lost Homestead by Lil Bahadur Chhetri, at the Eagle Theater in Jackson Heights, Queens (map), on February 18, 2007, at 2:30 p.m..

Basain was submitted to the 79th Academy Awards for “Best Foreign Film” for Nepal.

Memorial service

The local Nepali community in New York is organizing a special memorial service for the 24 remarkable people who lost their lives in the tragic helicopter crashon September 23, 2006, in Taplejung, Nepal.

The memorial service will be at 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 12, at the Theresa Lang Auditorium at The New School (map).
